Student progress is closely monitored through ongoing assessments, teacher observations and report cards, giving a well-rounded picture of both academic growth and personal development. Achievement is celebrated in meaningful ways through certificates, classroom recognition and digital showcases of student work, helping students feel proud of their progress and motivated to keep growing.
Parents are supported through three key touchpoints for discussing progress - regular updates on our online platform, our weekly Week At A Glance and Parent-Teacher Interviews held twice a year to review development, set goals and celebrate success together.
Students develop the academic, social and leadership skills they need to thrive in middle school and beyond. Through collaborative learning, problem-solving, classroom presentations, digital literacy and meaningful leadership opportunities, they build independence, resilience and confidence in their abilities.
The RMS Learner Profile strengthens this growth by encouraging students to lead with initiative, think critically and creatively, work responsibly with others and develop a strong sense of global awareness and citizenship. Grounded in hands-on, real-world learning, these experiences help children grow into inquisitive, respectful and compassionate young leaders.
French is a core part of the curriculum, helping students steadily develop their skills year after year. Through regular instruction and engaging classroom experiences, students build vocabulary and conversational fluency in Canada’s second official language, growing in confidence as they listen, speak, read and respond in French. This consistent exposure supports meaningful language development while encouraging students to use French in practical, everyday contexts.
The learning journey is further celebrated through our annual French Carnival, where students take part in activities centred on vocabulary, art, drama and everyday conversation in French.
Students take part in global academic competitions, STEAM challenges and public speaking opportunities both within Canada and through the wider ISP network. Through ISP’s International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS), children engage with global themes, new ideas and meaningful collaborations that broaden their perspective.
Field trips and workshops expand learning beyond the classroom. Experiences at Country Heritage Park, Black Creek Pioneer Village, and performances by Njacko Backo, Kaylie Kaetrix and Mackhena deepen cultural understanding in Social Studies, while Scientists in School and Bradley Museum activities bring scientific concepts to life.
