Since the passing of Dr. Montessori in 1952, her method of Education has been universally interpreted, updated and implemented by a variety of followers.

Rowntree Montessori Schools believes that in the 21st century, no educational programme can ignore the prevalent trends in Education. In our province, the Ontario Curriculum (2001) sets the outcomes and achievement levels that every student in the province should reach in each subject and each grade level. RMS, as part of the educational system in Ontario integrates the NOC into its academic programmes while applying the philosophical foundations of the Montessori Method of Education, therefore surpassing the academic standards set for the Province of Ontario by its Ministry of Education.
