At RMS students are introduced to computers as early as in Pre-School (age 2). Each Pre-School and Kindergarten classroom has been furnished with computers loaded with age-appropriate educational software.

For students from Grade 1 to High School, the RMS Academy computer lab consists of 22 networked state-of-the-art computers loaded with applications which provide the students with the best tools possible to study Information Technology.

Students learn what computers are and how they work. They become aware of the importance of computers in our society, their versatility and their uses and applications. Through independent studies and group work, students design and create their own computer projects using word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, databases, and HTML. They learn and perfect basic computer, keyboarding, and Internet skills, while delving into the world of information technology and its role in today’s business environment.

Starting at Grade one, students are introduced to computer basics, word processing and the use of the Internet. By Grade 4 students use extensively Word Processing, Presentation and Spreadsheet software while developing keyboarding skills. From Grade 6 and up, students learn Web Design and Hypertext Make-up Language; the Grade 9 course surpasses the Ontario Curriculum standards, introducing the students to the use of Information Technology in a business environment.
